Political Art / Poliittinen taide

In this exhibition I had political works of art.

Regional policy

Same time in different parts of Finland. With modern technology what else matters.

Housing policy

Each of these rugs are size of one square metre.
The names of carpets are districts in capital areas.
Prizes of square metre apartment in the area in question, can be seen in the carpet.
People need reasonable dwellings.
Is it too expensive to live even in Kerava?

Labour policy

Clothespins on work and out of work on the clothesline.
The whole society is on the shoulders of the employees.
After depression in the 90's, less people are doing bigger part of Finland's national income.
Who would be unhappier, if work force were embloyed more evenly?

Groceries policy

Combining black sausage of Häme to Karelian pie, you get a Finnish multicultural dish.
Traditional Finnish food seems to be most exotic you can offer nowadays in Finland.

Censorship

In Finnish television nakedness seldom is censored.
Only the face is possibly done unidentified. Nakedness can be shameful sometimes.
In foreign broadcastings bare genitals and buttocks are censoredand and rude words are replaced with peeping sound.
Sometimes even mouth, faces of passersby or texts of Tee shirts are faded away.
Presumingly seeing nakedness damages the viewer.
Wouldn't it be more important to fade violence, murders and other cruelties?
In front of these mirrors, you can test how it feels, when part of your identity is faded

Economic policy

10 mark notes on packing paper of a department store compose a pacifying picture.
Taivas (Heaven) 390 is made of 39 notes and Taivas (Heaven) 440 of 44 notes.
You can get anything with money, maybe also heaven?

Foreign policy

Karelia (Karjala) used to be part of Finland.
Traditional leaf-shaped pie (karjalanpiirakka) made of rye and filled with rice comes from there.
Missing back to Karelia can be cured with this Karelian pie.
Delicious serving in form of Finnish map with lost Karelia.
