nostaa kissan hännän (raising cat's tail)
Thanks to Taike (Arts Promotion Centre Finland/mobility), Tapio Wirkkala Rut Bryk Foundation and AFA centre.
The name derives from the Finnish proverb:
"Who raises the cat's tail unless the cat itself."
Meaning you should be the best promoter of yours.
In the drawings I promoted myself being one of our leading artists,
of my significant career abroad, and so on.
Each being pun or wit in Finnish.
Impossible to translate double meanings.
Having made these in Madrid may have affected me,
as there I was said repeatedly "¡Vale!" (OK).
"Vale" in Finnish is lie.
I tried to stay in truth.
I found the toilet of galleria Rankka suitable for my exhibition.
